Be as specific as possible about what you hope to achieve in the Mentoring session. Ask questions and listen to suggestions. Try to do your homework on your own before taking it to a tutor for help; a tutor can't do their job for you. Students also like the idea of receiving personalized attention in one-on-one sessions, allowing the tutor to focus on their progress.
The tutors, as described above, are actually doing student homework for themselves, which is a disservice to the students.
