What is expected from a tutor?

Class notes, homework guidelines, textbooks, draft writing, USB stick, calculator, etc. Be an active participant in the tutoring session. Be as specific as possible about what you hope to achieve in the mentoring session. Your tutor isn't sitting next to you in class, so expect to have an open and honest conversation about your difficulties.

Your tutor is expected to use all of their energy and resources to help you as best they can. If you've decided or have been thinking about hiring a tutor, it's important to know what to expect and what not to expect from your guardian. While a tutor can review your homework with you and help you resolve the issues you're struggling with, don't expect your tutor to pick up a pen and write down the answers for you. Sometimes tutors and students have very different expectations of what will be accomplished during a tutoring session.

When you know what to expect from your tutor, you'll have a better chance of succeeding and passing the class you're receiving help in.
